FAQ
Common questions about teletherapy
How much does it cost?
We are in-network with Wellfleet. We can provide invoices for out-of-network reimbursement if your insurance allows for that.
Questions to ask your insurance company:
• Does my plan offer any out-of-network benefits for mental health or therapy?
• How much will I be reimbursed per visit when I see an out-of-network mental health provider?
• Do I have a deductible? If yes, how much of it has already been met?
A deductible is the amount that you pay for covered health services before your health insurance plan begins to pay for the visits. For example, if you have a $3,000 deductible, you need to pay $3,000 yourself. After this amount is met, you then pay the copayment of the visit and your insurance company pays the rest of the amount.
Is therapy confidential?
Everything discussed with your therapist is kept confidential. If you would like us to share clinical information with other medical or mental health professionals, you can provide written or verbal permission for us to share information (aka: Release of Information form).
However, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality:
-
Cases may be discussed without any identifying information for educational and supervisory purposes at DPC
-
If your therapist becomes aware of any alleged child/elder abuse or neglect, they are required by law, as mental health professionals, to report this to the State Child Abuse Registry or State Adult Protective Services.
-
If your therapist deems you to be a danger to yourself or others, they may need to break confidentiality in order to assure your safety or the safety of others.
